P&O Cruises is set to bring a spectacular new magic and illusions show to five of its ships, promising to mesmerize guests with dazzling performances. Featuring the talents of two top UK television celebrities and a renowned choreographer, this Las Vegas-style extravaganza will offer unforgettable entertainment with interactive elements.

Exciting Illusions and Magic Tricks Await on Summer Sailings

Starting in summer 2024, guests aboard five P&O Cruises ships will experience the magic and illusions show titled “Unbelievable.” This Carnival Corporation brand, which caters to the UK market, announced on April 11, 2024, that Stephen Mulhern, a famous English magician, comedian, and TV presenter, will headline the show.

Mulhern, known for his roles in major TV shows like “Britain’s Got More Talent” and “Animals Do the Funniest Things,” will interact with the audience via video, while each ship’s Headliners Theatre cast will perform live. The show promises a blend of astonishing illusions and engaging tricks, ensuring an entertaining experience for all ages.

Collaborating Talent Behind the Show

The show’s co-creators, Jonathan Wilkes, a TV celebrity and singer, and Paul Domaine, a top creative director and choreographer, have infused “Unbelievable” with their expertise. Domaine’s impressive portfolio includes working with iconic artists such as Tina Turner, Cher, Queen, Mariah Carey, and Lionel Richie. His choreographic achievements also feature significant events like the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012.

Spectacular Performances and Audience Interaction

Guests can look forward to a 45-minute show packed with jaw-dropping illusions and magic tricks. Performances will include classic acts such as “Sub Trunk,” “Sawing in Half,” and “TV Screen,” along with levitation and other stunning feats. Each show will feature a unique interactive trick, engaging the audience and adding an element of surprise to every performance.

“I am so proud of ‘Unbelievable.’ It is the culmination of hard work, creativity, and collaboration with my good friend Jonny Wilkes. We wanted to create a new show that would wow the audiences with amazing magic, stunning visuals, fantastic costumes, and the coolest choreography,” said Stephen Mulhern.

“We have put together a fantastic cast and crew, the best of the best, who share our vision and passion. We can’t wait to share ‘Unbelievable’ as we sail around the world. It is a show that will make you laugh, gasp, and say ‘how did they do that?’ It is a show that lives up to its name: ‘Unbelievable,’” Mulhern added.

Souvenirs and Summer Sailings

For guests wanting to take a piece of the magic home, P&O Cruises will offer a souvenir box of magic tricks and illusions. While the price and specific launch date for this magical box haven’t been revealed, it promises to be a cherished keepsake for many.

The show will debut just in time for summer 2024 on five ships: the 3,647-guest Britannia; Azura and Ventura, each accommodating 3,100 guests; the 2,094-guest Arcadia; and the 1,878-guest Aurora.

Diverse Itineraries to Enhance the Experience

P&O Cruises’ summer deployments for these ships include a wide range of itineraries. All ships except Azura will be based in Southampton. Azura will homeport in Valletta, Malta, offering 7- and 14-night cruises to the Greek Islands.

The proceeds will benefit Teenage Cancer Trust and Child Bereavement UK.

P&O Cruises isn’t the only line adding magical performances to its entertainment roster. Princess Cruises introduced “Spellbound by Magic Castle” aboard its new ship, Sun Princess, which launched in February 2024. This venue features themed rooms where magicians entertain with various acts, special cocktails, and immersive effects.
