Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas Embarks on Asian Drydock Journey

Navigator of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International’s esteemed Navigator of the Seas is charting a course towards Asia for a comprehensive drydock maintenance. Departing from Los Angeles in February, this maritime marvel made a significant stop in South Korea en route to its primary destination in Singapore. As it docks in Southeast Asia, the Navigator of the Seas, launched in 2002, is poised for a two-week intensive drydock at a reputable local shipyard.

This scheduled maintenance is crucial for the vessel, encompassing regulatory compliance, class overhauls, and technical enhancements. The refurbishment will see the Navigator of the Seas receiving updates in public spaces and cabins, including new carpeting, updated upholstery, alongside necessary repairs and maintenance to ensure the ship remains at the pinnacle of comfort and safety.

Traditionally voyaging along the West Coast throughout the year, the ship momentarily halted its cruising activities in mid-February to facilitate this maintenance period. Once rejuvenated in Singapore, it will traverse the Pacific Ocean to recommence its services on April 12, 2024. The relaunch will be marked by a captivating cruise to the Mexican Riviera, featuring a seven-night itinerary from Los Angeles, exploring destinations such as Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta, interspersed with serene days at sea.

The Navigator of the Seas, a Voyager-Class ship, heralded the return of Royal Caribbean International’s consistent operations to the West Coast in 2021, operating from San Pedro’s World Cruise Center. Offering a year-round sailing program, it caters to travelers with an array of cruise lengths to Southern California, Baja Mexico, and the Mexican Riviera.

A testament to its grandeur, the Navigator of the Seas was constructed at the Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Finland and saw a significant modernization in 2019 as part of the $115-million Royal Amplified program. This revamp introduced captivating attractions like a resort-style Caribbean pool deck, The Lime & Coconut signature three-level bar, and the sea’s first blow-dry bar. The Royal Promenade, an iconic feature of the vessel, was also revitalized with new dining, retail, and nightlife options, ensuring that guests experience unparalleled enjoyment and luxury.
