MSC Seaside Fails CDC Inspection

MSC Seaside

The MSC Seaside embarked on its inaugural journey from Port Canaveral recently, and during this voyage, it underwent an inspection by a CDC inspector as part of the Vessel Sanitation Program.

Unfortunately, the ship received a score of 67 out of 100 due to multiple violations. A score below 85 is considered unsatisfactory according to the program’s standards.

The inspector discovered various issues during the inspection. Housekeeping records revealed instances of vomit and fecal cleanups in two separate cabins, as well as vomit in the medical center and hospital. Surprisingly, there was no documentation in the medical center regarding these incidents or any medical follow-up conducted with the affected individuals.

In response to these findings, a spokesperson for MSC Cruises informed Eyewitness News that the company is committed to strictly adhering to health protocols, and the inspection results do not accurately represent the brand’s high standards. They further mentioned that an internal investigation was launched based on the concerns raised by the inspector, and immediate corrective actions were taken. MSC Cruises also highlighted their consistent high scores on similar inspections over the past twenty years across their entire fleet.
