MSC Cruises Introduces Flexible Open Booking Program for Future Cruises

MSC Cruises has launched an innovative Open Booking program, allowing guests to effortlessly reserve their next cruise vacation without the immediate need to specify a ship, itinerary, or departure date. This new initiative offers unparalleled flexibility, enabling travelers aboard any of MSC Cruises’ 23 ships to secure a future cruise with a nominal deposit of $100, €100, or £100, depending on their location.

The Open Booking program distinguishes itself by not requiring guests to immediately decide on the details of their future cruise, a common requirement in the industry. Instead, travelers have up to 12 months to finalize their choices, including the ship, itinerary, and sail date, with the added incentive of receiving an onboard credit of up to $200, €200, or £200 if they do so within 60 days of making the deposit. Additionally, selecting a specific ship and cruise within one year grants an extra onboard credit of up to $100.

MSC Cruises aims to enhance guest satisfaction by offering more time and flexibility to plan their next sea holiday. The program complements the Future Cruise program introduced in mid-2023, ensuring travel agents retain full commission for bookings made through the Open Booking option.

Benefits of booking under the Open Booking program include the possibility to modify reservations before the final payment and the opportunity to earn double points for the MSC Voyagers Club loyalty program. This initiative underscores MSC Cruises’ commitment to providing guests with a wide array of choices, boasting hundreds of itineraries worldwide, including popular homeports in the United States like PortMiami, Port Canaveral, and New York City’s Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.

Looking ahead, MSC Cruises will expand its homeports to include Galveston, Texas, in fall 2025, following a $142 million development agreement to transform a cargo warehouse into a new cruise terminal. This expansion will see the MSC Seascape, a 5,200-guest ship, sailing from Galveston in November 2025.

The luxury MSC Yacht Club experience, available on thirteen of the line’s ships, including MSC Seascape, offers guests exclusive amenities such as a private restaurant, members-only pool and sun deck, butler and concierge services, and much more. This option is available for selection under the new Open Booking program, providing an even more indulgent cruising experience.

MSC Cruises continues to innovate the cruising experience, offering flexibility, luxury, and a plethora of options for its guests, making it an ideal choice for those planning their next vacation at sea.
