“Dear Mr. Heald, I read yesterday that Lysol was banned. When did this happen, and are all aerosol sprays banned?”
Heald clarified that not all aerosols are prohibited, only those used for cleaning.
“It’s not one specific brand—it’s the disinfectant or whatever the right word is, aerosol sprays that are not allowed,” Heald explained.
Are All Aerosol Products Banned?
Not all aerosol cans are off-limits. Carnival allows passengers to bring aerosols for personal grooming, such as hairspray, deodorant, and sunscreen. However, any disinfectant spray, regardless of size, is prohibited.
Another guest, Molly Freestone, inquired about bringing a small, travel-sized Lysol spray. Heald’s response was firm:
“No, I’m afraid it can’t be brought on board. Only wipes are allowed.”

Many cruisers already follow this practice. In a Facebook poll conducted by Heald, several passengers admitted to bringing both Lysol spray and disinfecting wipes to clean their rooms upon arrival.
One passenger, Janice Blackwell VanWagoner, shared:
“I do bring a travel-sized Lysol spray and wipes, mainly because I think the cabin steward has too many cabins to clean every high-touch area properly.”
Another cruiser, Linda Ward-Stuart, added:
“I bring both wipes and Lysol. Once on board, I spray my bathroom and wipe all the counters, doors, and phones. The steward cleans after debarkation, but the turnaround time is so short. This is just my opinion, but I bring both for my safety.”

“Guests cannot connect video game consoles to stateroom TVs. The ports are blocked to ensure proper function.”
If you’re a gamer, you can bring a handheld console or visit the ship’s arcade, though games in the arcade are not included in your cruise fare.
Bluetooth Speakers Are No Longer Allowed
In November, Carnival added Bluetooth speakers to its prohibited items list. The primary reason? Safety and guest experience. Passengers must be able to hear important announcements made by the ship’s crew, and loud music can be a distraction.
